She's my best friend, and I love her.
Like a lot.
Here's why:
1. Her eyelashes are gorgeous. They are longer than anything I have ever seen.
2. She has the kindest, most selfless heart
(except when it comes to cats.... but that's a story for another day).
3. She has THE BEST laugh. It is so contagious. And it's so easy to make her laugh.
To her, life is one hilarious, beautiful, happy place.
I think the time we laughed the hardest was in high school, when we went to the snow cone shack by Taco Bell to get snow cones because the guy she liked worked there.
As we were leaving, we were super hyper, and Jamie was driving.
We were stopped at a red light, and right when it turned green we decided we wanted to go back and see the cute guy one more time, so Jamie put the car in reverse and "accidentally" backed up into the car behind us.
Jamie got out and apologized/made up some lame excuse to the lady in the car, and then we drove to the Walmart parking lot and sat there for forever laughing our heads off.
4. When you need to come up with some awesome analogies, Jamie's your girl.
For example, the other day we were talking about our future hubbies.
Jamie told me, and I quote:
"You're going to love the heck out of your husband someday... Your heart loves deeply, it's just like a gun that's not pointed at the right target yet....
A whipped cream gun."
5. Jamie's driving while multitasking skills are impeccable.
One time we were late for a mandatory choir practice. I was driving too slow, so Jamie kicked me out of the driver's seat and proceeded to drive in downtown traffic while changing into a dress and tights while carrying on a conversation with me about how my day had gone.
6. She can always make me laugh and feel better about life.
Sometimes if I'm having a bad day, I'll call her up and I don't even have to say anything about how I'm feeling. She already knows. And she knows just what to say to give me hope again.
7. Jamie is the package queen.
She is ALWAYS sending me letters and packages in the mail. And not just skimpy little things.
Oh no, these packages are full of random things, each one with a handwritten inspirational message. Always included is a card or letter about how I can do hard things and everything is going to be okay.
And this is all written in the most amazing handwriting known to man.
8. Jamie is beautiful.
If I had to think of one person who exemplifies Christ, it would be her.
And that makes her stunning.
9. She has amazing writing skills.
She wrote my Valedictorian speech for me the night before graduation while I was a nervous wreck in the corner. She edited all of my essays Freshman year of college. She sends me emails with stories about her life that could be published in a heartbeat. I'm going to have her write my obituary.
10. Last but not least, Jamie is a woman of God.
You know how some people have "faith to move mountains"?
Well, Jamie has faith the SIZE of mountains.
She has had her fair share of trials. But I have NEVER seen her back down or give up.
She pushes on with determination, hope, and a fighting spirit.
She is a light that illuminates the lives of others.
She lives what she believes, and draws other people to her goodness.
She knows who she is and whose she is.
She knows where she's going, and she can't be stopped.
This {cheesy} song reminds me of her.
One time, late at night, we were sitting in her car in silence after having a conversation about the struggles of teenage life.
All of a sudden her radio turned on and this song started playing.
I think we both started crying, which makes me laugh now that I look back at it. But in the moment, it made us feel like we could do anything, and we had each other to do it.
I love you Jamie Brooke!
Love, your Manda Girl.
