I Will Go With Thee

This weekend has been quite the adventure!

I have a BIG post coming up about my many adventures
(including the Sara Bareilles/One Republic concert, which was AMAZING btw).

But today is not that day.

It will come though, I promise.

As for now....

{spiritual enlightenment}

The story of Alma and his people escaping the wicked Amulonites has always been one of my favorites. It's found in Mosiah 24. I like it, because it's also MY story....

"And it came to pass that so great were her afflictions,
that she began to cry mightily to God."

"And Amulon [or whatever your opposition may be right now] commanded her that she should stop her cries."

"And she did not raise her voice to the Lord her God, but did pour out her heart unto him; and he did know the thoughts of her heart."

"And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to her in her afflictions, saying:

'Lift up your head and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with you and deliver you out of bondage.'

'And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your back, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as a witness for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.'"

"And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon her were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen her that she could bear up her burdens with ease, and she did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord."

"And it came to pass that so great was her faith and her patience that the voice of the Lord came unto her again, saying:

'Go, and I will go with thee, and deliver thee out of bondage.'"

I know sometimes life can be overwhelming.

Right now I'm feeling a wee bit overwhelmed because I have a lot of things going on this next semester, and life is going to get pretty crazy.

But I know He will be with me every step of the way!

He is ALWAYS there.

We just need to keep pushing forward, always trying to be cheerful and patient.

We can't stop and wallow in self-despair and feel sorry for ourselves.

It's okay to have those days every once in a while, but then we need to get up and keep on going.

And He will go with us.
