Angels Among Us....

I believe in angels.

Angels from Heaven, and angels on Earth.

The Martin and Willie Handcart Companies.

I love the pioneers. Their stories are so inspiring and I've always hoped that I can be as dedicated to the gospel as they are. I've been to Martin's Cove twice, and there is such a sweet spirit of sacrifice at that place that is so special.

Miracles are real, but they are often small acts performed by the people around us.

If you haven't seen the movie 17 Miracles, you should watch it. I know that there are angels surrounding and helping us today just as much as angels were helping those early pioneers. Our battles may be different, but aren't we really all fighting the same battle?

I love the story in 2 Kings about Elisha the prophet's experience with angels. His servant woke up one morning to countless armies surrounding the city. He rushed to Elisha, telling him what he had seen. He was hopeless and afraid, almost certain that they were about to die.

But then Elisha said, 

"Fear not: for they that be with us are more than 

they that be with them."

"And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha." (2 Kings 6:16-17).

How often are YOU surrounded by angels?

I bet it's more than you think.

I have felt the presence of angels so many times in my life.

Every time I go to the temple, I know the people I'm doing the work for are with me.

My best friend, who has stood by me through the good and the bad. She's the greatest!

Friends and people who I may not be super close to, but they come into my life at times when I need them, teaching me things I need to learn, and most times they don't even know.

Last but not least, real angels. They really are there. They have protected me physically, emotionally, and spiritually- I KNOW that, because of experiences I have had with them.

My Savior loves me. I know that too.

And because I know that I can get through anything, and so can you.

"Fear not, for they that be with thee are more than they that be with them."

NEVER forget that.
