Peace

{tender mercy}

I have seen Heavenly Father's hand so much in my life recently, and I know he is there and he loves me, and everything I am going through is for my good. He really does care. Knowing he is there brings a peace in my life that I can't find anywhere else. And the best part is, he will ALWAYS be there.

{my top ten}

1. BYU Football starts in 18 days. Am I excited? Only a lot.
Just looking at this picture gives me the chills.
2. Conversations with friends! Over the past week I had several conversations with different friends, and I was reminded of how much we need other people to get through this life. It's not something we can do on our own, no matter how strong we think we are. I am so grateful for my friends who are willing to listen and talk with me about life :)

3. Pizza. I'd been craving pizza for a long time. Wednesday night I showed up for dinner group, and lo and behold, Aaron had ruined his stir fry and had to buy pizza instead. Coincidence? I think not.

4. Ward activities. Tuesday night was the last ward softball game. Nothing beats getting together with friends to play sports and eat good food on a warm summer's night!

5. Only three more weeks left of full-time work. THREE. I've done thirteen! I can do three more.

6. Long teeter-totter talks with Kathryn. Partly because the teeter-totter is in the boys' courtyard, so we inevitably end up talking to boys at some point. Which is always great. Boys are awesome :)

7. Late night Wendy's runs. After our long teeter-totter talk on Thursday, me and Kathryn went to talk to the guys. Around midnight we decided it would be a great idea to go to Wendy's and get Frosty's and fries. So we did. And then we went back to the guys' apartment and stayed up late playing wii and listening to music and talking. It was awesome. I love my friends.

8. Naps. Normally I am not a very "nappy" person. But this week... oh boy. I haven't just been wanting naps, I've been demanding them (to see where this reference comes from, watch this; you will laugh, I promise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnZhi5gaX8g).
How I felt this whole week.
9. Long drives through the canyon.
Late Friday night I gave Kathryn the keys to my car and told her to just drive. Little did we know what awaited us....
~Boys peeing on the side of the road,
 ~{accidentally} spotlighting people making out in a park,
~going to the top of Squaw Peak to see the breathtaking view of the city- only to leave 15 minutes later due to the teenager gang smoking weed right next to us,
~and on our way back, running into a fire at the mouth of the canyon. There were tons of police cars and fire trucks everywhere, it was awesome.

10. The power of prayer. I was studying my scriptures, and I read in Preach My Gospel about prayer, and how we should pray for the Spirit to guide our prayers. I feel so much closer to my Heavenly Father, and know He is listening because after I sincerely pray, I feel peace.

11. I'm doing an extra one, just because :) Rain. Oh how I love rain. This week was full of a few rainy days, and even a couple of thunderstorms. Of all the types of weather, I think rain makes me feel the most peaceful.
This will be me and my hubby one day....
{listen}

"Pompeii" by Bastille
Going cruising through the canyon at midnight, with the windows down and this song blasting, was probably one of the best moments of my weekend {see #9 above}.
Thank you Kathryn, for introducing me to Bastille. I have a feeling we are going to be best friends (me and Bastille, not me and Kathryn; we are already BFFs).

{wise words}

"When the choices we make are choices that help us stay true to who we are,
we will feel peace."

I am so grateful for my Savior.
This week I am going to stay true to who I am and what I believe.
Now I need to go to bed, because I believe in sleep ;)
