What do YOU bring to the world?

*Warning: mushy, lovey-dovey post ahead*

I've been in one of those moods all week where everything makes me cry.
You know what I'm talking about- those days when everything seems ten times cuter/sadder/happier/worse than it really is, and the natural reaction when you feel that way is to, well, leak a bunch of water out of your eyes (the more you think about it, crying is actually really weird). This usually results in rushed attempts to hide the fact that you were sobbing over your missing earring because they were your favorite ones and they matched every outfit and now you are doomed to look ugly for the rest of your life because one of them is gone.

Anyways.
My point is, this post may or may not be a result of my current emotional state.
So last Sunday I watched Anne of Green Gables with my AWESOME neighbor buddies, Kelsey and Mary Elizabeth (except Kelsey is losing her 'neighbor buddy' status because she is moving.... I'm super bummed). They needed to clean out their fridge, so we made a bunch of food and stuffed our faces while watching the world's most perfect love story (and yes, I cried).

Can I just say how much I love those movies?

Here's why:

1. I used to watch them all the time with my mom growing up. She would be working late at night on some project in the living room, and I would go snuggle next to her on the couch and watch until I fell asleep. Good memories :)

2. I've always felt like Anne is my twin. We are so similar in so many ways. I just feel like I get her, and she gets me. We're pretty much kindred spirits.

3. Anne reminds us that sometimes, it is okay to be "in the depths of despair." And every once in a while, we feel "well in body, but considerably rumpled up in spirit."
But despite the times we feel this way, it's okay, because "tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it."

4. It makes you think about life's deepest questions. For example:
"Which would you rather be if you had the choice-- divinely beautiful or dazzlingly clever or angelically good?"

5. Gilbert.
Gil: "It'll be three years before I finish medical school. Even then there won't be any diamond sunbursts or marble halls." Anne: "I don't want diamond sunbursts, or marble halls. I just want you!"
He never stopped loving her. He loved her through the good and the bad, no matter what. She was stubborn (me) and ignorant (me) and afraid of falling in love (me), yet he still loved her, and was willing to wait for the day when she would realize how much she really loved him back, because he knew it would happen.

He believed in their love, one-hundred percent.

I have this secret hope that because me and Anne are so similar,
my love story will play out just like hers did.
How romantic would that be?

I mean, it's got to be true love if it can go from this:
(about ten seconds before she breaks her slate on his head...)
to this:

(BEST scene in the entire movie. The way he gently holds her..... it's just so great.)

6. Last but not least, my favorite quote comes from this movie:

"It's not what the world holds for you, it's what you bring to it."

What do YOU bring to the world? Or are you sitting around, waiting for the world to bring something to you?

I love my life now, but I am SO excited for the many adventures I will get to share with my hubby one day. I love him so much already, is that weird? I can't wait.

PS: For another, more modern story of true love, watch this (try not to cry, I dare you):

And then listen to this song:
